So that both worlds gather with…

Surely, Allah and His angels send blessings to the Prophet. O you who believe, do pray Allah to bless him, and send your Salām (prayer for his being in peace) to him in abundance.

Surah 33:56

The intent of the Ayah is:

Allah informs his slaves regarding the status of His prophet and slave صلى الله عليه و سلم amongst the lofty angels, and that He سبحانه و تعالى praises his prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم amongst the angels near to Him. Furthermore, the angels send blessings and pray for peace upon him

After mentioning that, Allah commands those who reside in the lower world (i.e. Earth) to also send blessings and invocations of peace upon him So that praise (upon Mohammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) is gathered from both worlds; those in the sky and those upon earth.
