Sunnah which people have abandoned:
Du’a between noon prayer (dhur) and afternoon prayer (Asr) on wednesday.

Jabir bin Abdullah(رضي الله عنه) narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و سلم) supplicated inside masjid al Fath three times on a Monday, a Tuesday and a Wednesday (three times in a row). His dua was answered on Wednesday between the two prayers (dhur and Asr). His happiness with that could be seen on his face. Jabir رضي الله عنه said: “After that whenever I had a difficult situation I would observe that time to made dua and I would see the answer”

narrated by al Bukhari in his book “Al Adab al Mufrad” and also by Ahmad and Al Bazzar. Al Albani deemed it Hassan in “Saheeh al Adab Al Mufrad”.

Shykh Al Islam Ibn Taymiyyah said in “Iqtidhaa al Sirat”: A group of our companions and others apply this hadith and do observe Dua upon it, as it was reported from Jabir. It was not reported that he observed dua in that specific place but rather in the specific time.

Al Bayhaqi said in “Shu’ab al Iman” : Dua should be observed in the times, the situations, and the places in which it is likely to be answered. From these times is the time between Thuhr and Asr on a Wednesday.
